Hello, are there any EYFS Special Ed teachers on here? I’d love to know what you use to assess and plan for your children as I’m new to this role.

Hi, are you working with children in mainstream or in a special school?
What chronological age are your students and what needs do they have?
For global very early development the go to assessment is Routes For Learning published by the Welsh Assembly, or the later but very similar and equally good Quest for Learning published by the Irish authorities.
These cover in excellent detail the earliest developmental stages from reflex reactions to recognising simple objects can represent something else (eg a doll represents a person) ie. the stage that Piaget identified as “sensorimotor “
