Another possibility is that some high street shoe shops (admittedly not many) are selling cheap decking (type) shoes. They are blue with a white rim all around the bottom of the shoe.
They have a 'velcro type catch' which when undone allows the flap to open out wide, thus allowing the foot easy access into it.
You need to look on the men's section & the good thing is this allows the advantage of going up to size12 if necessary (depending how badly your gran's feet have swollen up.)
Because they are fairly cheap, it allows you the luxury of buying two different sizes if required; for example, as her feet have swollen up, you might find she needs something like a size 11 for one foot & a size 9 for the other.
