Extension to NQT time

Discussion in 'New teachers' started by sensei123, Jan 10, 2011.

  1. Thanks Welshwizard.
I'll get on and apply for extensions from all the LAs I have worked in (or could work in) then.
Sadly I've found that for short term posts of a term or more schools are reluctant to take on an NQT as they don't want to have to offer induction and a reduced timetable when they could employ someone who has completed induction.
I'll keep plugging away with the applications and hope I find a long term post within the next 12 months.

  2. Normally the LAs apply trhe entension from the point that the 16 months runs out. So contact all LAs where you may work to get extensions from them all.
