explanation of EYFS/profile points etc for parents?

Discussion in 'Early Years' started by LucyD84, Mar 14, 2012.

  1. I was wondering if anyone has a simple, typed explanation of the EYFS profile for parents? When my parents come in to look at Learning Diaries they always ask me about the scale points..and questions such as "How many points is average? do they need to get all 9 by the end of the year?) I have little grids stuck in their books where we tick off the scale points 3 times a year. Parents always seem to assume they are aiming for all 9 in all areas!
I have explained it to them at parents evenings/when they come in to share learning diaries etc...but obviously they find it all hard to remember/understand. I'm sending learning diaries home before parents evening next week and would like to stick an "explanation" into the front of the learning diary. Does anyone already have something like this to save me a bit of time? (Just had Ofsted so my brain is frazzled!)

    Many Thanks!
