Excellent authority website to help with ACfE - are there many out there?

Discussion in 'Scotland - curriculum' started by The moonbeam, Jan 11, 2009.

1. I've posted this on the ScottishPrimary Forum but think it belongs here too.

I've been trawling the internet looking for inspiration re. ACfE - to help me in my task of adapting forward plans to use the outcomes.

I reckon (though I may be wrong!) that there's a lot of good ideas out there already that we could all share if we build a list of education homepages for each of the 32 authorities. I suppose GLOW is really meant to save tasks like this, but loads of us aren't using GLOW yet.I know some will be locked, only giving access to their own staff, but nothing ventured...

Here's my start -(though there may be more sites for these authorities out there):

http://www.hvlc.org.uk/staffroom.htm Highland. Best I've found so far-top marks to those up north!

http://test.northayrshire.lornegreig.com/ers/ersteachers/ers_teachers.cfm North Ayrshire

Yes - it doesn't look good for ACfE when no one has a bright idea.

4. We have just started to form working groups (literacy and numeracy) and none of us really know how to go about developing the Cfe to suit our pupils. I am in the literacy group and at the moment, we are looking at early and first. Like Vivala diva, I wonder if anyone has already started the early stage and if they have started to look at the outcomes. Advice would be greatly appreciated!!

5. Am starting today as part of our in service, looking at early years, literacy numeracy and have asked all staff to look at one other area, we are baseing it on the I can statements, don't know if this is the way forward, but we will see how it goes...will keep you all posted.

6. here's the link for dundee

7. could we email each other and see how we are getting on? have started with early years in literacy and based it on I can statements. Working on this Monday and would be great to see how you have started.

8. should have said, my post was aimed at yh53!

9. Hi, I'm very new to all this posting on websites and things but I have been working on an early stage version of a CfE planner for literacy. It hasn't been approved by my head teacher yet but if he says it is ok I'd be happy to share it with you. I am also working on a Social Studies planner on Recycling and Eco stuff based on the four capacities so that too could be up for grabs but may ask for a trade for anyone looking at numeracy as we don't have a clue where to start with it at our school.

10. Hi kutly - I'd be very interested in having a look at your early years literacy planner - I'm working on a planning core team this coming session in our school and will be looking at all curricular areas with a particular focus on the early phase as I am in P1 - I would be willing to share anything I produce if you don't mind waiting until later in the session for it :)
My email is rachelsouthern@hotmail.com
Your planner might help spark us off!

Well forget that..... I had them on one nice, easy to access list but clearly the TES website doesn't favour my way of thinking! If anyone can help me format it better, please do!

I tried.......

13. Probably just your browser causing your post to display the way it did. Some don't work properly with TES - I use Internet Explorer if I need to post anything. Fingers crossed that I've got it to work...

Thank you! I tend to use Google Chrome so maybe that would explain it. Looks good with the spacing etc (appeals to my more anal side!!)

16. We're getting there now...10 down...22 to go...
Still looking for links for:
Aberdeen City, Dumfries and Galloway, Dundee, East Ayrshire, East Lothian, East Renfrewshire, Edinburgh City, Falkirk, Glasgow, Inverclyde, Midlothian,Moray, North Lanarkshire, Orkney Islands, Perth and Kinross, Renfrewshire, Shetland Islands, South Ayrshire, South Lanarkshire, Stirling, West Dunbartonshire and/or Western Isles

17. Don't hold your breath for the City!
Got a password some time ago which didn't work, got another, managed to access, and then that one didn't work. They haven't got their act together. There is a new Director of Education - just appointed end of June - so one can only hope........... There was NO DofE during the last few years. Need I say more?
Well done to the Primary section for leading the way (as usual). Does anyone think GLOW can eventually rival the resources on TES? I have got loads of stuff from here and very grateful I am too!

18. Hi
I would be really interested in taking a look at your version of planner for literacy and eco/recycling as my school have just begun initial stages in re vamping planners. I am on our numeracy working party and would be glad to share our planners once we have something up and running.
