Eurovision 2011

Discussion in 'Personal' started by pinkflipflop, Apr 16, 2011.

  1. Getting excited already, watching the BBC program right now!
Honestly though, I feel sorry for Blue as this will be career suicide. When will the contestants realise that it doesn't matter what song we have, nobody will waste many votes on the UK when we have automatic entry every single year!

Ha, ha - me too! I'm trying to summon up the will to get up and change the channel but I'm horribly fascinated.

  3. In my excitement I haven't even spelt eurovision correctly in my title!

Me too! Our annual party is already organised. Last year was great as my friend brought his Chinese in laws along. They really got into into it,despite having no idea what was going on!!!!

Doesn't seem like a year since the last one! What's the date this year? Might just have to organise a wee party!

    14th of May.

  7. 14th May.
Was gutted last year as OHs sister got married on Eurovision night! This year I will not be missing it [IMG]
I don't hold out much hope in him letting me have a party though!

I assume the north-east of Scotland is a bit too far for you?

Excellent! Mr manny will be on nightshift, so I can watch it this year.
When he's home, such nonsense is banned. I'm subjected to cries of 'get that ***** off my telly'.

  10. Just a bit! Sounds like quite a trek from the furthest SE corner of London!

  11. I love Eurovision - completely forgot this programme was on - bah!
Anyone else switching over for BGT later?

  12. Yes, I love having something really trivial to moan about!
We have SYTYCD on tonight as well so it is a perfect Saturday night telly situation! I genuinely enjoy watching SYTYCD though, takes me back to my dancing days.

Jump on a plane PFF, I'll pick you up at the airport and we can crash camother's party.

We have automatic entry because we fund about 25% of the competition!

  15. I know. Which is why it is pointless expecting a win.

Would anyone notice if we slipped in a previous winner as our song?

Get Bucks Fizz back on stage?

  18. Oh no!!
The same day as the Cup Final?
*wonders how she is going to cope with ecstatic/heartbroken Man City O/H + eurovision hyped-up daughters*

I fancied going to see Eurovision this year as it's in Düsseldorf, which is practically down the road from where I live. By the time I got round to looking for tickets though, they'd all gone. Oh well, it's more fun watching it at home, having a bet with the OH on the top 5.
