Enhancement baskets/deconstructed role play

Discussion in 'Early Years' started by busnae, Jul 25, 2011.

  1. Hello, I am new to reception and am keen to develop a deconstructed role play area. What I am wondering is for those of you who do this, what enhancement baskets do you have to support the role play?

also what about enhancement baskets for other areas - such as small world?

    thanks for your help

For role play try baskets of lengths of fabric - can be bought in some outside markets - I had a metre a black lace, fur fabric, etc. Ribbons. Hats. Musical instruments. Big blocks if you have them. Bags. Shoes including tap shoes and ballet shoes. CD player. Party food. Books. A parachute hung to make a den or tent.
For small world pine cones, stones, fabric to suggest grass, rivers etc. Straw mats. Books pictures and photographs are important to stimulate ideas when you are busy elsewhere....
