Oh how I dislike english lessons, but they must be taught!
What areas are people looking at for this new half term and whats left of the school year
so far, we have done lots of narrative, instrctions, explanation and poetry.
    Thanks

Non-fiction reports, letters, instructions and poetry are the main things left for me.
Going to spend this half term on reports.
Easter to half term on letters and instructions.
And the late summer on poetry, including performance.

    I LOVE teaching English!

I am in Year 6 so I am teaching persuasion and discussion this next half term...4 weeks. But we are writing letters on Fairtrade. Report/biography on a Holocaust Survivor who is coming in to speak to our Year 6. Character description and a book review for World Book Day. Newspaper report on an Ancient Olympic sport.
So I teach a genre but then cross curricular/creative I am recycling genres already taught.
Plenty of opportunities to get in all the standards...well that's the plan anyway!
