English Jan results.

    How did we do?
    We do AQA English and our Yr 11 results were really good, bearing in mind that our intake has pretty universally poor literacy.

    Ours were pretty good too, I'm very happy today. [​IMG] Literacy is an issue for us too, so doubly pleased.

    Re: "puzzling individually"...
    We had this last summer. It turned out that, with computer marking, responses to some questions hadn't been seen by the examiner, so original marker had written "no response attempted" when at remark the candidates had actually scored highly for the questions.
    Unfortunately with GCSE you can't call for a copy of the paper before deciding on a remark (unlike A level) and as we know, marks can go down, but if you really think a student has underperformed then might be worth while getting a remark - after all, at the minute it sounds as though they're going to do it again in the summer anyway.
