Hi everyone, can anyone recommend a good, easy to digest book, which will get me up to scratch with the basics of English grammar, SPAG etc. I need the basics all the way to year 5 please. Also, any recommendations for the same in maths would be good too, although I know that's probably a big ask for maths. Any help much appreciated. Thanks, Lyndsey : )

Both of the following collections of books are great for subject knowledge (English and Maths):

    - Carol Vordaman 'Help your kids with' books.

    - CGP study and work books for each year group.

Just read the UKS2 programme of study and Google anything you don't understand.

    Don't waste your money.

Thanks. I have had a look at the UK S2 programme of study, but as a supply teacher covering various years groups, I need to know a broad range so I do find books that can summarise, helpful with this.

I would use Jumpstart Grammar Pie Corbett and Julia Strong (yellow book).
Look at the White Rose Maths Hubs New Plans on TES. Start of Autumn term out and second part out later in July.

I am moving into year 3 from year 1 next year and I've been recommended to get the Oxford spelling, punctuation and grammar book too. It looks like it'll do the job.

Good luck with your upcoming year. I bought the book straight away and love it. It gives me a quick insight into the basics and I know what to look for if I need to research further. Perfect for me as I'm a supply teacher so can end up teaching early years one day and year 5 the next. Thanks
Oh, and I found it to be pretty cheap through Amazon through other sellers, also Amazon prime.
