Engaging 'level 5' maths activities for the whole class (primary)

Discussion in 'Mathematics' started by Tills, Apr 8, 2012.

  1. I have an interview coming up where I've been asked to do an activity
for 25 minutes. It adds that many of the children are working towards
level 5 in May so this is clearly something they want you to look at.
    Lots
of the securing level 5 activities I have done in the past have been
small group with lost of discussion and would be inaccesible to the rest
of the class so its difficult for me to do a 'tried and tested'
    activity.
Any brain waves? I've had ideas but want to leave it open to any maths wizzes.
    Thanks

Probably best if you tell us what you are thinking and we can comment on it.

What is the focus of the lesson? I would usually open a lesson with a short game, something to get them thinking about the concept so they can tune in to what they're doing.
