I'm trying to book travel for my mum who gets nervous and a bit scatty in unfamiliar surroundings. Can anyone tell me if it's easy enough to get off a plane at the airport and on a train into Nottingham?

From what I remember there's no train service but there is a bus that goes direct from the airport to Nottingham city centre. (I think it's called SkyLink)

There is a bus but, as I remember it, it's quite slow.

Slow is not a problem. Finding it and getting on the right one, might be!

It was a few years ago but I think the bus stop was right outside the door and pretty obvious.

Thanks, Nomad. I did have a look but it's more the ease of the transition I worry about. I suppose she can always ask someone if she gets lost but she's already so anxious about it, I'm starting to stress too!

By the looks of it, the bus station is right outside the terminal

It's quite a small airport and everything is well sign posted.

Are you going to meet her in the city?

No, I'll be sticking her on the plane at this end.

I've only been a couple of times but I would have thought her difficulties would be at the other end.

You can request assistance for her at EMA. They will provide it without asking questions - can meet her from the plane, get her through security and assist her to find the right bus stop for Nottingham.
