I've just finished reading this in preparation for my next Book Club discussion. I don't know what to make of it - on the one hand, it was an easy read but the inconsistencies in her character niggled. Ant thoughts?

I read it and thought it was ok. The parts which dealt with her eccentricities I felt were covered well but I was less impressed with the darker side of the novel ( don't want to give anything away here ) which I thought predictable and clichéd. I am not a Book Club person because by and large I don't care what others think- ha ! ( I read 'The Cactus ' by Sarah Heywood ( sp ? ) and on reflection this was similar ( theme ) but superior in my opinion.

It was a holiday read for me. I agree that it was cliched, but OK.
