EFL to GTP/Primary School

Discussion in 'Trainee and student teachers' started by ahg098, Jun 10, 2011.

  1. I just completed some experience at a primary school and met a teacher who had lived in Thailand for a while teaching English to the staff of a hotel out there, and then applied (successfully) to do the GTP, I'm sure he had experience in a state primary over here before applying, but they seemed to look favourably on it. I myself am working as a PT lecturer, and was told this experience helped me secure a place on the GTP. In my experience, you will see a lot of parallels between many teaching jobs and teaching in formal education - even at foundation/reception level once you get some experience in a primary school. Hope this helps and good luck.
