Edexcel GCSE Unit 1/2 Practical marking

Discussion in 'Drama and performing arts' started by fadingstar, Dec 31, 2010.

  1. The students are purely there to check your marking. If they are having an off day it is not a problem - the only thing that is relevant is that Edexcel agree your marking.
  2. Safeguarding bo llocks will be the reason why there are no practical sample materials beyond what there is already - undoubtedly. Are you marking generously? Probably. Compare the criteria fro band 1 from the old to the new spec. I would suspect that you are a couple of marks too generous. I'm never one to calculate coursework grades, so I would say it was a dangerous way to go. In the old spec you were reasonably safe if you said the top mark of band 3 was a bottom C as a rule of thumb. Beyond that, I never calculated anything. When SMT wanted current performance levels, I made them up.
