Easy and fun way to teach Spelling

Discussion in 'English' started by Spellathon, Mar 30, 2012.

  1. Have you heard of Mencap's Spellathon, the annual spelling competition for schools? It's now bigger and better than ever! Watch this short video for teachers http://vimeo.com/39335121. The free interactive games for whiteboard are great to teach and practice spelling in the classrom and ideal to teach mixed ability groups. Schools can also take part in the annual competition and raise much needed funds for learning disability charity Mencap. 25% of what your students raise goes back to the school. 2. Masha, something that many five year olds can master, including me when I was five, is not difficult at all. Your twaddle has addled your brain.

  4. Masha, Spellathon raises money for charity. I know you have an overwhelming urge for self-promotion but is dismissing a charity event like this really the way you want to go about it? That thousands and thousands of children participate successfully in such an event is surely testament to the fact that spelling is not the destructive force that you think.
