Easter Assembly Y6 on Symbolism-any ideas??

Discussion in 'Primary' started by SIRFRANK, Mar 28, 2011.

  1. At our local church, have been given that area to produce a presentation at front of the church-22 children-any ideas that might work well? totally stuck at moment. Many thanks.

Why not have a core of narrators and have the other children dressed in character come out and simply place symbols on the altar or at the front as it is being read to symbolise their part in the story?
Any object named in the story would do.
    A cross
    A crown of thorns
    A sponge soaked in vinegar
Bread and wine from last supper
    Palm leaves
    Thirty pieces of silver
    A ripped cloak
    Bowl and towel (footwashing)
A sign "INRI" - Iesus Nazarenus Rex Judae" (Jesus of Nazareth King of the Jews)
    etc etc

"Were you there when they crucified my Lord?" is quite a powerful song as a reflection.

  3. Many thanks-great idea
