Early Year English Teacher in Beijing, China

    A fast-growing international early years education institution Beijing Centre is looking for talented, adventurous and resilient native English teachers, to plan, organize and implement an appropriate instructional programme, based on [British National Curriculum Framework EYFS], in a learning environment that guides and encourages students aged 4-12 to develop and fulfil their overall potential.

    [Located on Beijing Language and Culture University (known as The Mini-United Nations) campus], this centre is in the Zhongguancun Scientific and Technological Park and along Xueyuan Road, which provides a comfortable living and working environment for people from all over the world.

    Work Activities and Responsibilities:

    · [21 teaching hours per week] with 8 hours daytime working hours.

    · Organising learning materials and resources and making imaginative use of resources, and assisting with the development of children's personal, social and language abilities;

    · Supporting the development of children's basic English language skills, including communication and speech;

    · Identifying clear teaching objectives and specifying how they will be taught and assessed;

    · Keeping up to date with changes in the curriculum and developments in best practice;

    · Undertake assessment of students as requested by examination bodies, departmental and school procedures;prepare and present informative reports to parents and the principal.



    Professional Requirement:

    · Anyone wishing to teach in this centre must have Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) either by taking a teaching degree, a degree followed by a PGCE (Postgraduate Certificate in Education), School-Centred Initial Teacher Training (SCITT) or employment-based graduate/registered teacher training programmes. Early applications for PGCE places are advisable during the first term of your final undergraduate year.

    · Have a working knowledge of teachers' professional duties and legal liabilities, and operate at all times within the stated policies and practices of the school.


    Career Development:

    Career progression may be through a specialist curriculum or to more advanced roles. This can include moving into special educational needs (SEN) or management (deputy or head) roles. Early years coordinator positions may be available in this centre.


    Salary and Other Benefits:

    · [1 year contract] with starting salary for English teachers in Beijing Centre is 6500RMB for the first 2 month of probation, then 7500RMB from 3rd to 6th month, 8000RMB frm 7th to 12th month.

    · Year 2 salary is 9600RMB from 1st to 6th month, 10200RMB from 7th to 12th month.

    · [End of contract bonus] offered 3000RMB for 6 month, then 7000RMB for 12 month.

    · 10 days [paid holiday] in addition to 13 Chinese national public holidays.

    · 1 [return economy class flight] allowances over the contract.

    · Support in [learning Mandarin Chinese].

    · Teachers accommodation within walking distance from the campus available at 2000RMB per month for single room, and 1500RMB per month for shared room with other colleague.

    · Professional visa application support.
