Early retirement or not

Discussion in 'Workplace dilemmas' started by 1rascal, Mar 15, 2012.

  1. I am 56 and have informed my school I will be applying for ARB for the last day of the summer term and they agreed to it. I have had a a change of heart- would this count as resignation? I have completed the forms but haven`t yet sent them.

  2. I would think a resignation has to be in writing.See your head asap to sort the situation.
As a matter of interest why have you changed your mind?
Another point- don't take ARB from the last day of term as you will be paid for August anyway. Take it from 1st September. This matters whichever year you decide to retire. There is no point depriving yourself of a month's pension benefits unnecessarily.
