Dreams of USA give nightmares in London

Discussion in 'Primary' started by jdmorr, Jan 18, 2011.

  1. Dear all,

I have spent countless hours researching how to teach/move to the USA. I have been met with seemingly countless options/websites/links...all of which have produced no concrete plans in terms of moving to the USA.

    My dream:
    - To work in California or maybe Montana.

    My problems:

    a) To move I need a visa.
    b) To be granted a visa I need a job offer.
    c) To receive a job offer I need a list of jobs to apply for.
    d) If/when I find a list of jobs available I need the CBEST certificate to teach in that state - I dont know how to take that test from the UK?

I have alot to offer and my main problem is that there seems to be no forum from which I can broadcast my skills. Does anyone know ANYTHING about moving to America to teach?

Any help would be most gratefully received...

    Kind regards,
    A stressed teacher : )

    Hi,
I just found this post, it is something I would love to do!! As you wrote this 2 years ago, I'm curious to know, did you ever get to the US? Have you heard of the VIF Program? They recruit international teachers to work in the US!
