    Dear all,

I am currently a secondary drama teacher, but looking to the future I was wondering whether Primary schools hire in drama specialists to teach the subject/run drama clubs/schools productions?

    Thanks

At my previous school we had a drama teacher from the local high visit 2 afternoons a week in the summer term to teach performing arts to the children.

I have also been in schools where the high school have set up a separate performing arts after school club for primary children (in fact, my own high school did this and I used to help out) and they will put on a termly performance using the high school's facilities. A great way to strengthen the feeder school partnerships. Perhaps you could suggest this?

I'm not explicitly aware of any schools employing drama specialists as the subject itself tends to be done within literacy through techniques such as hot seating, role on the wall etc. however I could be wrong!
