    Hi,
I carried out a lesson on doubling and halving 2 digit numbers a while back for Year 6 children (low ability group) - what I need to find out is where this is referenced on the national strategies website - I have looked but cant seem to understand where it fits in with the strategies.
I have found it on the National Curriculum website but not the National Strategies website (ie
    Programme of study: mathematics
    Key stage 2
    Knowledge, skills and understanding
    Ma2 Number
    Calculations 3g
Mental methods - double and halve any two-digit number
Also any ideas how I can find out what progress and attainment the children can gain, if you carry out a lesson on "doubling and halving 2 digit numbers".
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks

There are charts in pdf form on the strategies site matching the framework to 1999 and 2000.
    Here are the links:
    Year 5 1999 http://nationalstrategies.standards.dcsf.gov.uk/node/47190?uc=force_uj
Year 5 2000 http://nationalstrategies.standards.dcsf.gov.uk/node/64695?uc=force_uj (there is a mistake on the heading for this page - it says 1999, but it is 2000.)
    Year 6 1999 http://nationalstrategies.standards.dcsf.gov.uk/node/64785?uc=force_uj
    Year 6 2000 http://nationalstrategies.standards.dcsf.gov.uk/node/48252?uc=force_uj
If you open the pdf and use the find box, type in your word then press enter it will highlight your search word - press enter again for the next.
I did this with the search word double, half etc and didn't get any matches on the year 6 pages. I did though on the year 5 - hence my reason for including these.
Hope this is useful - (in future if it doen't help you now!)

    Thanks for this, much appreciated.
I think using the Year 5 pdfs may help me.
Will these pdfs help me any way determining how the children progress from this topic of doubling and halving and what they attain from this topic.
    Thanks
