Mrs B is baking and has just cracked an egg with two yolks. This used to be a far from rare occurrence years ago but it has not happened for years. These were just bog standard Tesco value eggs.

I cracked open a double yoker on my birthday once, and saw it as a good omen. :)
As far as I remember, that was a really good year.

I can remember my mum cracking an egg when I was a child and it had a half formed chick in it.

I have kept chicken s, I'd say a double yolker was about every couple of months. Typically it would be the same chook. Then as they age you tend not to get them.

We used to fight over a double-yolker! I haven't seen one in supermarket eggs for decades but I've had neighbours who kept hens and quite often we'd get a double-yolker amongst their kindly donated eggs.
