Does this time of year make you more introspective?

Is it just me or is there something about this time of year that makes one more introspective/looking to the past?

I think there are a number of reasons:-

    1. The nights are darker and darkness seems to encourage brooding thoughts.
    2. Autumn/Winter is naturally a 'reviewing' time of year in Nature
    3. Christmas/New Year's acts like a tunnel back into your past where you remember past Chrismtmases/New Years.
    4. It is a new academic year - which makes you feel older when you see Y7 become Y8 and so on...........
    5. Halloween 'used' to be the last day of the year.

While the opposite occurs from January, new year, more daylight, Spring etc.

    What do people think?
