Advertised job 'Director' of an academy trust, responsible for 12 schools, £100,000
'Principal' Local Authority, responsible for 310 schools? £65,000.

An example of the benefits brought about by academisation. Absolutely no comparison whatsoever to the privatisation of the pubic utilities, no, no. o_O

You'd think the more informed response would be to address the reduction in grant from central funding to reimburse the local authority. But no, have a knock at schools and local authorities instead...

Another cost would be the grant of £25,000 each school receives to smooth the legal and financial change to Academy status... 5000 Academies roughly so... £100 million on lawyers and accountants...

Schools with a healthy budget will take that with them, the surplus doesn't go back to the LA.
In addition there are a number of local schools that have had large building projects go ahead though the LA ...then convert.

So it's like being jointly responsible for a debt, then walking away with your share of the assets and leaving the debt to the people left behind.

Absolutely, old boy! Isn't that what academisation is all about? Money, money, lovely money!
