Discussion in 'Early Years' started by pink8686, Jan 19, 2011.

  1. Hi All,

Wondering, If i sang the 1-2-3-4-5 song, then as group work played the fishing game where you ahve the catch a numbered fish with magnetic rod, would it fit into the goals for EYFS NURSERY?
    if so how!

Play it! By doing so, you're teaching them the rules of a game. You're also teaching number recognition. How can you have the goals if you haven't done the teaching? Are the children supposed to learn by osmosis? Are you confusing goals with imput?

They will be 'turn taking' and using numbers spontaneously in their play, helps to reinforce number recognition.
