Does anyone expect to work next week?

I think it is a case of hope triumphing over experience that I have made myself available for work next week. I've had no calls this week so maybe I should forget about working until January? Surely next term can't be any worse than this one....

I don't think there will be much work going next week.

Lots of school round here close on Wednesday

I think you're right, @peakster. Schools locally to me finish on Thursday.

I very much doubt it. I cannot recall employing supply staff in the last week before Christmas.

Got one day booked, Tuesday. Would have done Thursday but they finish at 12.30 and I only have 1 period on my TT so I told them I wasn't bothered about losing the money and they will cover it internally.

I have two day. Do not think I will get more. The last couple of weeks have been very busy though. Lot of illness both teachers and kids.

I’ve been fully booked this week, so i think I should get at least a few days next week. But we’re moving to a rural area in the new year so not sure how much work I will get there...

Quiet for me here in South London, was very good the last weeks overall. A few more day would be good to end the year with a bit more of hope.

As a variant on the OP I'm just about to be ejected from my short-term gig a week early. Combination of returning breeders and no need for an expensive maths specialist considering the lack of teaching.

Suspect I'm unemployed and unemployable next week but daren't tell Mrs Cazorla that.

Go and work for the post office John - that's what I used to do at xmas.

I'm not doing supply this term and hopefully next either. However, I did get an early call (6.55). I guess that might have something to do with labour losing massively.

I can't decide whether to change my availability for next week - the weather forecast doesn't look good and as I've had no offers this week it's unlikely I'll be needed.

We have a sickness bug in school at the moment - several teachers off ill.

    We are covering everything internally.

On my county website there are a number of ads for cover supervisors

It really doesn't look good for day-to-day work.

I've been offered work every day I've been available to work since start of December. Working on Monday and I'm assuming I'll get called in Tuesday as well.

I spoke too soon. I got a phone call this morning so I am in a school with mixed Y5/6 all day.

Just got two days, tomorrow and Wednesday. An hour each way but Christmas needs to be paid for. Needs must and all that.

Amazingly, I got a call to work at my favourite school this morning! Both staff and children have been dropping like flies with a sickness bug. This is me finished for Christmas now, though. I had a lovely day there - as I always do and really hope for more days there next term.
