Do you think schools will have to go online any time soon?

With this government having made 18+ u-turns, saying one thing one day and the opposite next day, do you think there is a real possibility that schools will have to move to online ed to avoid those predicted 50,000 new Covid cases/day in one month's time?

My take is that it's possible but not at the top of the Government's list. Schools will need to make online provision for children who cannot make it because they're isolating.

But if they only have in the children who really can't work online at home (talking high school here), then it's possible to have a reasonably safe school. Some teachers would be perfectly happy to work if there were only a handful of children well spaced out in a large class room. Teachers who are particularly vulnerable/have partners who are could work fully online. Given that parents have been told to work from home if possible (or has that changed AGAIN?), this would be manageable.

The gov think children dont get the virus. That is what they keep saying anyway every now and then. Makes you wonder why they keep saying it whether they are using it as an excuse to send kids back or not.
