Do permanant part time jobs exist?

Discussion in 'Jobseekers' started by pinkpineapple, Feb 29, 2012.

  1. Hi
I have been at home with my two little boys since 2009, and am trying to restart my teaching career now one of them's at school. I picked up a two days a week maternity cover in October, which is due to end in June. I am now looking for something permamnant for September, ideally 4 days.
There are lots of permanent full time jobs in my subject (English, secondary), but no part time. I've been to a supply agency who are confident they can keep me employed in maternity covers indefinitely, but I don't really want to do this, as I will have no chance of career progression and will never have real ownership of anything.
So, do I need to accept that full time is the only option if I want to progress and develop in my career?
    Thanks x
