  1. Hi
In a bit of a pickle. Working overseas but its not working out. I want to leave but i do not want a reference from my current Head. Will this be a problem on returning to uk? I have only been here 6 mmonths, can i just leave it out of my applications?

    No.
You may not leave it out - a school will wonder what you were doing and might even conclude that possibly you were in prison.
You must be honest in all your application, and omitting an employer is not honest, I'm afraid!
And - more bad news - you must have your current or most recent employer in an employment involving working with children as your first referee . . .
So that's another reason for not leaving it out.
You might actually think that this is a good reason FOR leaving it out - but if you do and it is discovered you could be dismissed without notice . . . and never work in this town (i.e. education) again . . .
    Best wishes

  4. Thanks Leo,
Suspected that this was the case. I am going to finish my employment following the proper routes and never ever work abroad again. A lesson learnt!
