Dinner Party -help please

Discussion in 'Cookery' started by poohsticks123, Jul 19, 2011.

  1. I have invited four friends round this Friday for my birthday. To cut a long story short I've got 16 month old twins so not much time. Any ideas for quick yet tasty dinner party menu please? Anything but fish/ seafood as one of them can't eat it or lamb. Thanks in advance ps one of them is bring a desert so starters and main :)
  2. Forgot to say I do have a slow cooker :)

http://www.jamieoliver.com/recipes/chicken-recipes/tender-chicken-legs-with-tomatoes This tastes much more special than it should given how simple it is to make. You could serve it was mash, jackets or pasta.
I would say soup for an easy starter but something salady would be nice before that chicken:
    - pear, blue cheese and walnut
    - mozzeralla and tomatoes
For my next dinner party I am planning to try:
Toasted brioche, onions caramelised with balsamic vinegar and thyme with goats cheese on top grilled until it's soft.
  4. Thanks that does look nice and easy.

PS can I come to your next dinner party - that starter sounds delicious :)
