    A burst of God Save the Queen at the start, cutting off just before 'the fascist regime'.
    There's been a lot of this sort of thing recently - BA and The Clash and so on.
    Deliberate provocation, I reckon. Seeing how far they can push it.

    They didn't pronounce it properly, though, did they? There used to be more emphasis on the final syllable, surely?

    I have a feeling that some of the music could be from a mixed tape that Danny Boyle put together as a yoof in the 70s/80s.

    So you don't think it's part of a big conspiracy to undermine our great heritage of musical protest and opposition of tyranny?

    There's enough slightly suspect stuff from those eras to suggest that DBs Irish roots make him inclined to some populist subversion.
  13. We don't know who decided the content, as there was a committee of at least five scriptwriters, not including Danny Boyle. One of them talked about the process on BBC Breakfast this morning. It's likely that the games organisers and the government had some say , too,.

    wel i didnt have a say as i though most othe modern and punk music was cr ap!..howeve, i loved the show although i do think its time Paul Macartney hung up his vocal career!
    The queen looked bored through out.probabaly past her bed time...but i loved the spoof james bond jump!
