Diaphragm anyone?

Discussion in 'Health and wellbeing' started by kritur, Mar 3, 2011.

  1. Does anyone use this as a form of contraception? I have had a look at the options open to me and I would like to give it a go. Does anyone have any advice?

  2. My mother used a diaphram.

I had one years ago. I really liked it. You can put it in every night if you have that sort of relationship but if yours has settled into routine you probably know when is likely!! I used to put the spermicide capsule in the cup so it was next to the cervix and that seemed to work for me and stopped it being messy. No side effects and men can't feel it so gets over the condoms aren't any fun argument. I found it comfy and couldn't feel it in. I did go the family planning clinic for it and perhaps that is better as they will have more experience of fitting them rather than the GP. It's a shame it has fallen out of fashion as it is so easy and very green given that they last for ages.

  4. Beestoni - I'm surprised that you were so anti the cap when you are so happy with a mooncup! Taking out a slimey cap is pretty rank but a mooncup full of blood just makes me feel a bit queasy! What do you do in a public loo with no wash hand basin in for example? And then if you've emptied it do you shove it back in without washing it or your hands! Eeeek..... [IMG]
