My doctor wants me to have a blood test for diabetes and other bits and bobs due to the excrutiating headaches I get every month before or after my period. Anyone else discovered diabetes in this way?

I'm not overweight as such ( a couple of pounds or 10 to be my ideal weight), eat reasonably healthily, fairly active but my dad has it so..

I didn't know that headaches go with diabetes. I have type 2 diabetes and so did my father and hardly ever had a headache in my life. You're doing well to keep your weight right down.

No, headaches aren't a typical presenting symptom for type one or type two diabetes, but it's a simple test so easily done.

HRT was a godsend for me for 11 years.
