The EYFS documents are available to download from the DFE publications, however more recently the Tickell review has been published which looks at how early years education is due to change and how the new reforms will be put into place in September 2012. I can fully understand your frustration as considering you will have to use the current EYFS until the new literature is released, but unfortunately they no longer seem to be in print. One option would be to ask when out on placement for a spare copy from your school. If not much of the information os available on the Primary National Strategies site under the early years tab.
