I'm just wondering whether anyone has come across any clips or sequences in film or TV that can be used to develop descriptive writing for learners with weak imaginations. I was hoping to find a longish fly-through or panning shot of a scene or location so that students could pick out details to develop descriptions.

I teach the GCSE English Language course (AQA 8700) at a College and my learners are students who failed in the previous year.

    Thanks for any help!

What about the opening scene to Gravity. They could describe the Earth as it comes into view, then the space craft as it gets closer and then onto the characters if you so wish.

I've used the opening to 'Edward Scissor Hands' successfully before.
