What would be considered a good salary package in Singapore for a very experienced teacher?
Mid-tier schools will offer (ball park figure) $11,000 total (including housing allowance). The top tier ones, you're probably looking at @$13,000/14,000.
Migratingbird, are your figures including bonus too?
No, just monthly income. In Singapore dollars.
What (approximately) would come off that figure for tax and a two bed apartment?
Tax is low. Probably around $1000-1500 per month. Unless you have your own children at the school - school fees are also taxable. This can push up the tax considerably. Two bed apartment depends on location. Have a look at the propertyguru website to get an idea. About 20-30 mins out of town, for a 2-bed, would probably be around $2500.
where does the green holy school come in the list of schools? Seems to be short of the big 3 - what's it like to work there?
