DearTheo - Applying for Jobs

Discussion in 'Jobseekers' started by ford4610, Apr 16, 2012.

  1. Hi Theo and all,
I have been accepted onto a GTP course from September, which I'm really looking forward too. I have a question regarding job-hunting during that year. I am training in Music in a small department (compared to Maths/English/Science etc), so am aware that it is unlikely that I would be offered a job at my GTP host-school upon completion of the course. Because of this, and because of my nature, I am keen to know when is best for looking for NQT jobs, especially in subjects like music where there are comparibly fewer jobs than for core subjects.
Thanks in advance for your advice. I know it is early to be asking, but I like to be aware of the protocols etc.
    Best Wishes,
  2. TheoGriff

Hullo Daniel, and well done for thinking ahead, as well as well done for getting that place!
Independent schools (you can do your induction there too) often advertise very early - from before Christmas sometimes but certainly from after Christmas. State schools may also start advertising after Christmas for September, but the main rush will be after Easter.
