You might remember me posting a while back about CAs etc. Well I've started supply this week and already been offered 1 day a week in the same school for the rest of the year! Haven't applied for any jobs yet but this is a positive start and hopefully I can use the days to build a portfolio of good work and get a reference.
Thanks for your encouragement when I was trying to decide what to do.

It's a;ways good to hear when things are going well, so thank you for giving us an update.
With very best wishes for the rest of the year - and a FT job for September!

A further update - the school now want me for another 2 days a week in a different class! They are advertising a permanent post, but the head hasn't mentioned it to me and to be honest I don't particularly want to work full time there. Don't really want to work full time anywhere at the moment but am really glad to have the supply work.
Now I need to really start thinking about what to do for September. I'm hoping some part time/temporary/maternity cover may come up after the resignation deadline, and that in that case schools might prefer someone experienced over an NQT.

Alexander - 3 days per week gives you time to have a life, and write some applications, so that sounds good!
    Best wishes
