Dear Theo

1. Dear TheoI wanted to write to let you know that after attending your course in London on the 21st Feb this year I have just accepted my first teaching post. Since attending the course I applied for two positions, I was shortlisted for both. I am sure this is a direct result of the advice I was given regarding executive summaries and how to put together an effective personal statement.I found the workshop on how to behave at interview particularly helpful and was able to employ strategies I learned from the session, for example STAR. At my first interview I came 2nd out of 90 applicants and three days later I was offered the job at another school, this time I was one of 60 applicants.I cannot thank you and your team enough. As a GTP Drama student the job market is looking particularly bleak however I was able to bag one of the few jobs out there and believe attending the course enabled me to stand out from the crowd.I strongly recommend this course it was excellent and well worth the money. Many Thanks!

Congratulations & well done for following all that good advice that I'm sure Theo gave. Particularly for Drama- not exactly high on schools priorities at the moment.
I don't know if he'll award you a shiny star or if you'll have to start a new post 'I got the job!'

I remember you - GTP Drama are not very thick on the ground.
You were the one who laughed really loudly when I said that you had all learned 2 very important things in the first two minutes of the seminar - one of them being that First Impressions Count, the other . . . well, we'll keep that to ourselves. A seminar secret.
Well done on getting that job, and good luck with it.
Now, about that shiny star . . . .
Really, to follow the rules and be fair, you need to start a new thread called " Dear Theo, I got that job!".
Just because I remember you from the seminar, doesn't mean that you get special treatment, so off you go and start it. It's to give other posters a boost when they see that title.
