Is it true that you will be considered for a post because of the reputation of the school in the area?I applied for 2 posts in the local area but have not been shortlisted at both.Mine is a failing school and the same thing happened to me last year when tried to leave.ThanksSorry don't know why it is typing bold.

    It is certainly true that some Heads may feel that you have not had a good professional experience if you are in a failing school.
    It is up to you to prove otherwise!
    Do you mention in your letter the fact that it is a failing school? You should. And you should also go on to list what you have gained, professionally from working there.
    This brings the issue out into the open (were you hoping they wouldn't notice?), and in a positive manner.
    Make sure that you follow the advice in the shortlisting clickables inside the Welcome thread.
