Dear Theo - what to say in interview

Discussion in 'Jobseekers' started by stressedinessex, Jan 31, 2011.

  1. Hi

in my current job i hold a TLR, which i will not have in the job i have just applied for. I have already viewed the school and they know that 1 of the reasons i am applying is because i am moving area. I have other reasons for applying regarding my current job and the qualifications we teach which i think disadvantage the pupils. I know i should not be negative about my current job, so how honest should i be and what do i say when they ask about losing my TLR??

    thanks in advance!

Yes, you are right about not being negative. Completely so. Personally I wouldn't even mention your disquiet unless specifically asked "what do you think of the NVQ in XXX?".
Wishing to move to another area for personal or family reasons should be enough. You will add that you would hope to be eligible to apply for any posts of responsibility that come up in the future, and until trhen wiull be contributing as fully as possible to the school despite not having a TLR.
Make sure that you read and implement the advice in the shortlisting clickables inside the Welcome thread. Best of luck!
