Dear Theo - unseen task.....eek!

Discussion in 'Jobseekers' started by LorelaiVictoria, Feb 9, 2011.

  1. Hi there, I have an interview for a maternity cover post within a year four class - it comprises a 30 minute lesson (poetry and senses), a 10 minute break followed by a 10 minute unseen task and ending with an interview lasting 30 minutes. What could they possibly be asking me to do for the unseen task?! I know nobody here's psychic but I'd like some possible ideas so I can prepare somewhat... Help!!

Well done for the interview! Here are some tips on the task.

Read the Interview clickables inside the Welcome thread for general interview advice. You should be feeling pretty confident about this, as it's all stuff that you can do standing on your head!
Looking forward to that new thread: Dear Theo - I've got that job!
    Good luck!

  3. Thanks for that, I'm really nervous - this will be my fourth interview:
The first I 'should have' (according to the head) got but didn't because I was so green/new to it that I hadn't prepared adequately for the child protection portion of the proceedings....
The second one I was 'close second' but didn't get the post because the winning candidate had 'an edge' - what the edge was they couldn't clarify....
The third, most gutting interview - I was one of three, and was told that we were all identical but my references weren't as good.

    It's absolutely draining!!

I think that you are panicking a little bit here! Have confidence!
And to be frank, the feedback isn't usually worth the air it is breathed on.
I have my fingers crossed really tight for you. (And if it doesn't come off, then sign up for one of my seminars).
