Dear Theo-second subject?

Discussion in 'Jobseekers' started by gamble, Mar 3, 2011.

  1. Dear Theo
A post has (finally) been advertised teaching my specialism and around these parts this is something to get very excited about! It has been advertised as part time but the school will consider full time if the applicant can offer a second subject. Just wondering how you sell yourself to teach a second subject without actually having a degree in it- I have completed a couple of OU courses outside of my subject-would this qualify me?

    Thanks in advance

You don't need a degree in a subject to teach it- just QTS qualifies you as a teacher, with transferrable skills, enabling you to teach another subject.Unless yoy're looking at A level when I would expect some qualification.
Show your enthusaim & knowledge of a second subject & how your 'skills' enable you to teach that subject etc.
