Dear Theo: References after interview?

Discussion in 'Jobseekers' started by pinkjacqui, Jun 23, 2011.

  1. I'm an NQT and have an interview for a school tomorrow which I'm desperate to work in. Neither of my referees has been approached for a reference, and I'm starting to wonder if the Head has already decided she's going to give the job to a student within the school, and therefore doesn't need to bother. Do schools ever ask for references after interview?

They shouldn't, but they sometimes do! I think it is extremely unlikely that this is deliberate because they have made their mind up. If they had, they would have saved themselves the bother of interviewing you.
So go there feeling confident and keen.
For good last-minute preparation, go to the interview clickables inside the Welcome thread.
Well done for getting that interview. We look forward to the new thread called Dear Theo - I got that job!
