Dear Theo - mention of length of commute to current school in application

I am sure you have answered this - but I have tried searching and can't find the answer.
My main reason for wanting to leave my current school is the length of commute - I have mentioned this to my current head when asking her about supplying references for me. The one thing that I am unsure about is whether I should mention this in my application. I have listed other reasons for wanting to teach in the school I am applying to (teach A level, teach in my specialist subjects, etc). I am an NQT and will have only been in my current school two terms by September. Thanks.

  3. Personally I wouldn't word it quite like that. In the "reason for leaving" box, I would put "To be closer to home", although, it means exactly the same thing. I wouldn't even bring it up in my letter of application.

    No, iCatherine is right.
A school wants you to want to be with them, not to be wanting to get away from your current school, even for a good reason like this.
    Best of luck!
