    Excellent news, really excellent!
I suggest two things, if you have time.
First go to the Welcome thread on JobSeekers, open it and read the 2 clickables about interviews. These will help you prepare intelligently.
Secondly - can you get together a portfolio? As you are an artist, this is quite important to show both your talents, and those of any children that you have taught. Sit your own kids down after tea one day if necessary!
Very best of luck to you.

And a really good one at that? Last unsuccessful candidate had brought something which prompted the question "is this your work or a pupil's work" by my colleague (genuine question!)

  3. OK Theo I will have a look-Good idea about a portfolio-I do have work on DVD-and I have a DVD player somewhat like a Tablet which I could bring and put on a slide show-Artie....

  4. Actually I do have slides and a thesis written on my work too-might look at that!!

Best of luck! Lots and lots of positive vibes coming your way [IMG]

  6. I will be taking a Year 6 in Art-I have my work in slides of high quality sound installation that I can show them-I did rooms and used my voice with spotlights in minimalists spaces of pure white-that should do it-I might post on the art section for ideas for the lesson.
Thanks for your support I will really try hard! Its a real good school!

  7. Hi Theo
well I had the interview-a lovely school-fantastic approach , even in the pouring rain-I arrived 1 hour early as I had to walk up-It gave me time to feel the school-How did I do? Well it wasn't easy-I did a lesson only 20 minutes and did paper cutting-mastisse style-the children were great and it was very cosy. Got on very well the panal-very informal-all felt good but most likely no as i dont have the experience or qualification-thats my problem-I have the subject knowledge but lack the rest-haven't heard today so doesn't look good....I think I am packing my didgeridoo!-long story.......

  8. Well I am still waiting....so close yet so far.......tears are falling like the rain outside and so...
    It goes on.
Only a miracle will save me from going down under...I will start the course in January then I will come back fully with QTS-thanks to Michael Gove (if I survive-I was a migrant £10 child-somewhat "oranges and Sunshine-a film)) and start over (yet again-4 times in 38 years trying to come home and succeeding) I will be retired by the time I get this right!!!
