Dear Theo (and especially LaraMfl and Marlin),
I had a day long interview today, and am enormously releived to have been appointed!! I don't often post here, but I am an avid lurker, and very very very grateful to all the good advice posted here.
A couple of questions I was asked today:
Tell us about yourself (I take this to mean my teaching life, rather than me personally)
What would you want to see in the classroom half a term in? (or words to that effect)
What would you like to develop as a teacher?
Describe a really good lesson.
What skills can you bring to this particular class?
Ummmm, there were more, but the mind is now completely mashed and blank! Thank you all for everything you post here[IMG]

Thanks S4mm13. After ten years at home with my children, and a year of terms here and there, I am very glad to have jumped through the hoops successfully (for a change!!). You'll get there too - hang on in there. I often think that part of the whole jobs application thing is tenacity!

If you want to learn how to do the picture thing it's simply copy and paste in IE.
In Firefox slightly more complicated to decribe as the site doesn't let us publish the instructions properly -they vanish so IGNORING THE SPACES ( justso we can write them here) you put
[ i m g ]copied image location [ / i m g ]. Try practising here

OK. Practice posting your flowers here :)

I know! I was feeling a bit stressed about it - and now I've had a weekend to feel relaxed and pleased...before leaping into stress-mode and feeling hopelessly inadequate to the task again! Ah well, I've ordered a couple of books from Amazon, so that must be ok...[IMG]

clear_air - I'm delighted for you - and I'm sure once you get in there your confidence will come back!
Don't forget to ask if you need any guidance with the music lessons! [IMG]

Thanks, I really appreciate it. (I did go to town on selling the 'piano playing during assembly' thing!!) I need to convince the new boss that I can teach writing well - we had to 'comment upon some children's writing', as part of the interview - and by that time I was so tired (and wrung out with nerves!) that I hardly dared write anything down or commit myself to anything!
