Not a huge poster on here as my hunt has not been a long one but wanted to say many thanks to all who have offered advice here...and I managed to get a job this week!! Only maternity cover, but in a town which has seen 4 Art teachers lose jobs this year I am extremely grateful (even having to teach Food too!!).
My route in, if it's helpful, was mainly by volunteering - I was the first to be asked when the position came up (in a different dept). I know it's not financially viable for many people but just wanted to encourage others that it's possible to get paid work from a volunteer start.
    Thanks again...
    Lizzie xx

    Congratulations! [IMG]
(Incidentally I got my last 3 long-term sick covers via the volunteering route, but now I can't find a school since re-organisation!)
Even better that you got one so quickly, so break out the
