Dear Theo, How can I make my personal statement stand out from all the others?

Discussion in 'Jobseekers' started by katewatson6, Jan 27, 2011.

  1. I am currently studying on a SCITT course and jobs for Septemeber are starting to appear. I'm worried about writing my personal statement because I haven't done anything as exciting as travelling etc to write in my statement and of course I want it to stand out from the others. Can you give me any advice about how to make my statement special?
    Thanks

Your personal statement shouldn't be just one document that you write and then send out to several schools. You won't stand out that way. . It should be something that changes for each school, and stands out because it is relevant to that school and its needs, showing that you are the best person for them.
Your executive summary will help you stand out if you can proivide strong evidence that you comply with their requirements.
Read the advice in the clickables inside the Welcome thread - they will help you with your application overall.
    Best of luck.
